Ghana midfield attacker Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has ended Germany star Florian Neuhaus World Cup dreams following a collision in the game between Freiburg and Borussia Monchengladbach over the weekend.

Kofi Kyereh unintentionally injured the midfielder forcing Neuhaus out after just 31 minutes. The Ghanaian international was making his first appearance of the season.

Florian Neuhaus  wanted to continue the game but due to the pain, he was substituted and rushed for treatment. He was later returned in clutches.

It was later revealed that, the German midfielder had suffered a cruciate ligament injury and will be out for a couple of months, ruling him out of the Qatar World Cup.

"It looks like Florian  may have suffered a cruciate ligament injury. Hopefully he will be lucky and the official diagnosis is something less serious,"  Said Borussia Monchengladbach on Twitter.

Florian  suffered a partial rupture of the posterior cruciate ligament injury during the Freiburg and Monchengladbach game bundesliga game. Surgery is not being required but the pair will be out for the foreseeable. Get well 🙏 soon," added the club in a tweet.

The setback brings memories of when Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng injured Michael Ballack before the 2010 World Cup.

Manchester City Football Club have released Ghanaian winger Thomas Agyepong following the expiration of his contract.

The 25-year-old Ghanaian failed to make an appearance for the English champions since joining the club in 2015.

Agyepong moved to the English land  from the Right to Dream Academy, spending most of his time on loan as his contract elapsed in July of 2022. He played for FC Twente and Nac Breda in the Dutch league before featuring for Hibernian in Scotland. He also enjoyed a loan spell at Waasland Beveren.

The tricky Ghana winger failed to get contract extension after struggles to convince City despite his enormous talent.

He last did play for SK Lommel, Man City's feeder club in Belgium, where he did appear in 13 second-tier games.

The 25-year-old winger has made six appearances for the Black Stars including an Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) appearance in 2019.
