Former Barcelona full-back Dani Alves calls Cristiano Ronaldo a "b******" in a honest appraisal of his former rival.
Dani Alves called Cristiano Ronaldo a "b******" after the veteran named the Manchester United star as the most difficult opponent he has ever faced.
Former Barcelona star Dani Alves has dubbed Cristiano Ronaldo a "b******," claiming that the Portuguese veteran is the toughest opponent he has faced in his illustrious career.
Following a brief stint at Juventus, Ronaldo was enticed back to the Premier League for a second stint with Manchester United last summer. Prior to moving to Serie A, Ronaldo had a trophy-laden decade with Real Madrid in Spain.
Ronaldo won the Champions League four times during his time at Real Madrid, but only twice did he win La Liga. That was due in part to Barcelona's domestic dominance, which won the Spanish title six times during Ronaldo's time in Madrid.
Alves was a mainstay of the Barcelona side during that sustained period of success, and the veteran is widely regarded as one of the club's greatest full-backs of all time. Alves was a regular for nine seasons in two spells at the Nou Camp, meaning he faced some of the best players in the world on a regular basis.
However, in a recent interview, the 39-year-old, who has also won the Copa America twice with Brazil, named Ronaldo as his toughest opponent: "Ronaldo, Cristiano. This b****** will not let you breathe for a single second. I didn't do too badly, but it's challenging. He's a point-scoring machine."
Ronaldo scored 450 goals in 438 games for Real Madrid before being enticed away in the summer of 2018 by the prospect of a new challenge with Juventus in Italy.
Lionel Messi, Ronaldo and Alves' former Barcelona teammate, is widely regarded as the two greatest players of the modern era and was a fierce rival during their time in Spain. With both of them playing for the league's two biggest clubs, the El Classico quickly became a must-see event around the world.
