"Galamsey" "Queen" Aisha Huang, is currently facing fresh four charges after the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame has filed new charges against her in tandem with the infractions she committed between 2015 and 2017.

Checks have revealed that yesterday, Friday September 16, 2022 four new charges were filed against her.

As part of the new charges, the Attorney General filed, it included "Undertaking a mining operation without a license contrary to section 99(2)(a) of the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006, Act 703 as amended by the Minerals and Mining (Amendment) Act 2019, Act 995".

Furthermore, the second charge was facilitating the participation of persons engaged in a mining operation contrary to section 99 (2)(a) & (3) of the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006, Act 703 as amended by the Minerals and Mining (Amendment) Act 2019, Act 995.

Another charge, made against her was Illegal employment of foreign nationals contrary to section 24 of the Immigration Act, 2000 (Act 573).

Finally, the fourth one was  Entering Ghana while prohibited from re-entry contrary to section 20(4) of the Immigration Act, 2000, Act 573.

Meanwhile, within the week, one of the accomplices of Aisha Huang who has been charged with four new charges fainted during the court proceedings.

However, the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made its point clear that they would not condonme any act of injustice in the case against the galamsey queen, Aisha Huang.

Speaking on Accra based Joy News channel, Deputy General Secretary, Dr. Peter Boamah Otukunnor has indicated that notorious galamsey queen, Aisha Huang, should be punished if she is found guilty.

NDC is highly convinced that Aisha Huang deliberately flouted the laws on mining and must be punished as such.

According to the Deputy General Secretary of the New Democratic Congress, Dr Peter Boamah Otukunor, he is convinced that the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP has immense support for the Galamsey Queen, something he believes won't augur well for the nation.

He therefore expressed his disappointment about the comments made by her lawyer, Nkrabeah Effah Darteh.

“I have read commentaries from NPP members and the lawyers defending her that this is not any matter and that, the issue is being blown out of proportion. Look at the crisis the country is going through and the challenge of suffering the worst currency depreciation in the history of this country" he intimated.
