In Wa, in the Upper West Region, the police on Sunday uncovered a human body in a little grave.

One of the local private security personnel who has gone missing is thought to be the body.

The police have not yet commented on the most recent finding.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Modey, a correspondent for Graphic Online in the Upper West Region, reports that the police have identified the five people who have mysteriously vanished in Wa during the past five months.

Two bodies have been discovered by the police out of the five instances (excluding Sunday's discovery).

The remaining three remain unaccounted for.

They are all private security guards whose workstations were stained with blood the morning after they vanished.

About 350 police officers have been dispatched to Wa by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to supplement the existing presence there to help quell young unrest, aid in the investigation of the incidents, and aid in the arrest of offenders.

The police have a record of five incidents involving private security personnel, according to Mr. Reynolds Manteaw, the Upper West Regional Crime Officer, who spoke with Graphic Online's Emmanuel Modey previously.

Protest

The teenagers staged a public protest and set fire to car tires in response to the abduction of the private security personnel and the discovery of a second missing individual last Friday.

Some people attacked foreign-looking traders, which required additional police to help control the scene.

No arrests have yet been made by the police.

A 15-year-old boy named Ibrahim Hafiz has been hospitalized at the Wa Regional Hospital with bullet wounds he got during one of the juvenile demonstrations at the crossroads near the Ramabus Filling Station, according to our correspondent.

Innocent Obina, a 35-year-old man, was hurt badly in the head as well.

After receiving treatment, he was released.

Last Friday

The second private security guard to go in the same week, Wa residents learned last Friday when they awoke to the news that another guard had vanished.

Similar to the three preceding cases, traces of blood were discovered on the floor close to their duty posts on both occasions.

The general populace believes they were both murdered, with the remains interred in a hidden tomb.

Police are conducting investigations.

To voice their displeasure with Wa's security situation, some people gathered in front of the Wa Technical Institute.

They protested the lack of security in Wa, which they claimed was the cause of the missing private security personnel, by setting used vehicle tires on fire on the highway.
