Kennedy Osei Nyarko, Member of Parliament (MP) for Akim Swedru in the Eastern Region, has described Agenda 111 as the nation's largest investment in the health sector ever.
He expressed his delight that this project is taking place during his tenure.
According to him, the best way for the government to improve people's healthcare delivery is to build infrastructure; to that end, he stated that the government is committed to building the necessary health infrastructure.
"As part of the Agenda 111 program, the NPP wants to build 111 hospitals today." We should be grateful as a people for such bold initiatives, and we should support the government regardless of our political beliefs, because once these hospitals are built or completed successfully, the next government or party in power will not have to commit additional resources to provide or build the same hospitals across districts and regions that lack these facilities.
"What we must understand is that whatever the current government is capable of doing correctly, the next government will not have to spend additional funds to do the same. We can accomplish this together if we stop being too partisan or overly political "He told Kingdom FM in Accra.
"As you know, a healthy people ensure a healthy nation, and the government, mindful of this fact, has demonstrated to the people its commitment to improving the health status of all residents in the country," he said.
"The most certain way to improve the healthcare system is to build new infrastructure or improve existing ones across the country."
Despite challenges with the number of hospitals in Ghana, he is optimistic that the country will soon be able to boast of several medical facilities to make healthcare more accessible than it is now.
Kennedy Osei Nyarko was overjoyed that the government's Agenda 111 initiative to improve healthcare delivery across the country would make medical care more accessible.
