More information has come to light regarding the lawyer who perished on September 18 in Calabar while pursuing her husband and a suspected side chic.

With three children, Claret Opara Bassey and Mr. Sunday Bassey were married for nearly ten years before she passed away.

The Nation reports that on Sunday, September 18, she received a call from a friend informing her that her husband had allegedly been seen in a mall with the suspected side chic.

She was alleged to have sped off in one of their cars to the mall. When she arrived, she noticed that her husband was getting ready to leave the mall and that Laticia, an alleged side chic, was in his car.

He quickly sped off with Laticia in the front seat after spotting the wife.

The faster her husband accelerated, the harder Mrs. Bassey attempted to catch up with the car until they reached the highway.

According to reports, the husband made the decision to stray from the highway and head toward the State Housing Estate's neighboring streets, forcing the wife to do a U-turn.

She then lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree, seriously injuring herself and severely damaging the vehicle.

According to witnesses, the husband made a u-turn as soon as he noticed via the rearview mirror that his wife had been in an accident.

The husband reportedly rallied to save his wife as the suspected side chick dropped off and left the scene.

According to reports, the sobbing husband apologized to his wife who was lying in a pool of blood.

"He expressed regret in front of his dying wife and begged that she not pass away. He sent the wife to the Navy hospital in Calabar, where it was purportedly determined that she had passed away. according to an eye witness.

Friends of the pair claim that they began dating while still in college.

On the deceased's Facebook profile, a friend by the name of Queenofhearts Oyoyo wrote: "Barr Claret Bassey, my friend is dead; you were frightened, subdued, and abused until you bowed out. I advised you to put your children and yourself first. Why didn't you phone any of your regular bone pals today? I am completely destroyed."
