ACCUSED MURDERERS OF A PROSPECTIVE TRAINING NURSE HAVE BEEN DETAINED BY POLICE.

The two suspects in connection with the murder of a prospective trainee nurse in Mankessim in the Central region have been remanded into police custody by the District Court II in Cape Coast. The defendants were Mike Darko, a self-styled pastor, and Christopher Ekow Clarke, the tutuhen of Ekumfi Akwakrom. Following their arrest a few days earlier, they were brought before the court on Wednesday, September 22, 2022, and were given a two-week remand.

However, they will return to court the following Monday, October 4, 2022, and October 20, 2022. They were accused of a murder plot and murder in violation of Section 46 of the Criminal and Other Offenses Act, 1980, Act 29. Meanwhile, according to the police, the two confessed to killing the deceased as part of money rituals when being questioned.

DSP Daniel Gadzo, the prosecutor, begged the court to grant the investigation team enough time to complete their work.

Thus, they were remanded into police custody by the Her Worship Bernice Mensima Ackon-presiding court.

Georgina Aso Botchwey, 25, from Yeji in the Bono East Region, is accused of being killed, and the suspects are now in legal trouble.When the deceased, a candidate for admission to the Ankaful Psychiatric Nursing School, arrived in Cape Coast in the Central Region for an interview, the incident took place.

She arrived on September 8, 2022, and two days later, on September 10, 2022, the police said she had gone missing.

After perpetrating the killing, the accused are alleged to have interred the body in the chief's incomplete tomb structure at Asikafo Ambantem, a suburb of Mankessim.

The deceased's body was then unearthed and placed in the morgue of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

However, police information resulted in the accused being apprehended in the Central Region at Anomabo.

Due to the crimes they committed, these two men will spend time in prison.
