After regaining his form for Manchester United this year, Raphael Varane has been described as "the boss."
Varane was acquired by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the summer 2021 transfer window following a successful tenure at Real Madrid. But his performances suffered from injuries during his first few months at United under Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.
Varane, though, has developed into the Reds' rock at the back since Erik ten Hag's hiring. The 29-year-old has demonstrated the kind of talent that was anticipated when he moved from Madrid, along with Lisandro Martinez.
Rio Mavuba, a defensive midfielder for France with 13 appearances, has now lauded his compatriot for performing at his peak level at Old Trafford. "It demonstrates his importance after a trying year. He spent a considerable amount of time with Real Madrid before being transferred to Manchester United and experiencing some minor issues.

Since the loss to Brentford, Harry Maguire, the club captain, has not started at the Theatre of Dreams due to Varane's strong performances for United. On Thursday night, the Frenchman played at the center of a back three as Didier Deschamps' team defeated Rangnick's Austria 2-0 in the Nations League.
