A car burns down in Dzorwulu, causing massive traffic on the N1.

According to reports reaching GhanaWeb, a car has caught fire near the Menzgold office in Dzorwulu.

The incident, which occurred only an hour ago, has caused massive gridlock on the portion of the N1 Highway leading to the Accra Mall area, stranding drivers and passengers.

Our on-the-ground reporter reports that the car, a Pontiac Vibe with the registration number NR 37 11, was being driven by a female at the time of the incident.

Though she refused to speak on the record, the vehicle's owner stated that she was on her way to East Legon when she noticed smoke coming from the bonnet of her vehicle near Dzorwulu and stopped to investigate.

Shortly after, the car caught fire and exploded in flames. She did, however, manage to get her luggage out of the vehicle before the fire started, with the help of some bystanders and a nearby police officer.

Though the cause of the fire is unknown, the owner of the vehicle is said to have narrowly escaped.

Meanwhile, some Ghana National Fire Service personnel who rushed to the scene have brought the situation under control.

Details are emerging about how two men brutally murdered a 25-year-old woman in Ghana's Central Region.

Georgina Asor Botchwey's body was exhumed from the house of the Tufuhene of Akwakrom, Nana Onyaa Clark, who is now facing murder charges alongside the deceased's sister's fiancé, Michael Darko.

When Georgina traveled from Yeji to attend an admission interview at the Ankarful Nursing Training School, Darko, who lives in Kumasi, is said to have requested to meet up with her.

Georgina was picked up by Darko in a taxicab with Nana Clark after she finished her interview on September 9, 2022.

They then drove to where the chief had parked his Mercedes Benz with the license plate GT 8686 C.

The two then took their victim to Nana Clark's Akwakrom apartment, where they took her phone and locked her in a room.

They then went to Sikafoambantem, another Mankessim suburb, where the chief had another building, and dug a hole in the unfinished building.

They then returned to Akwakrom Sikafoambantem and picked up their victim. The young lady is then said to have been hit with a club by Nana Clark, while Darko held her neck until she died.

After shaving her, they buried her in the hole they had dug.

This new report explains how the suspects who admitted to killing the victim for ritual purposes carried out their plan.

The suspects who have been remanded in custody are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

They have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, specifically murder, as well as murder in violation of Section 46 of the Criminal and Offences Acts of 1980, Act 29.
