We witnessed people clapping and saying "away" - Adom-Otchere investigates booing video.
Paul Adom-Otchere has provided a touchscreen analysis of the alleged booing of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at a musical concert on September 24.
The Good Evening Ghana host played two edited videos, one of which he claimed was official footage from the organizers or production company and the other of individuals filming with their phones.
On the September 27 edition of Good Evening Ghana, he told his audience that presenting both videos was to allow them to "...determine if this was booing or not, of course, there were people who were clapping and saying 'away,' we saw that as well."
"This is somebody's mobile phone that is filming some people who are clapping the president off the stage, and you have to contrast that with the very unanimous heralding of the president unto the stage by the audience at the event," he said after showing the booing portions of the footage.
"I'm not sure how this became booing and it became a story and the media used it and the president was booed." But this is the truth about what happened," he added.
What exactly happened during the booing incident?
Thousands of people packed the Black Star Square to see a concert featuring a variety of local and international artists.
As the event's host, the president was asked to deliver his remarks, which happened to be a prepared speech lasting more than six minutes.
The booing began when he began his speech by saying, "The entire world is in Ghana today."
What began as people expressing their displeasure with his presence on stage quickly turned into loud clapping and chanting of the words "away, away...," but the president stayed the course and delivered his entire speech.
As if that wasn't enough, people on social media used the news to mock the president.
