Erling Haaland has an otherworldly quality to him. It's as if the Manchester City striker was created in a lab, an amalgamation of all the qualities required to be the most ruthless finisher.

Big, muscular, quick, sharp, intelligent, and skilled: it's difficult to think of anyone else with such a unique combination of qualities.

Just seeing him in action makes you realize how unique he is. But if you need more proof of his distinction, look no further than the speed with which he has set about shattering records. Here are six examples of his singularity. After 14 goals and three assists in eight Premier League games (not to mention three goals in two Champions League games), he is already nine goals short of matching Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-total min's of 23 goals that won the Premier League Golden Boot last season. And there are still 30 league games left.

Following his demolition of Manchester United, the notoriously stingy French newspaper L'Equipe gave Haaland a player rating of 10 out of 10. As a result, he became only the 13th player since the system's inception in 1985 to achieve a perfect 10.Six games into his City career, Haaland matched Micky Quinn's record of ten goals in his debut season at Coventry City, which had stood for 30 years.

Quinn's productivity dipped slightly after that blistering start to secure his record in 1992-93, as he only scored seven goals that season. On Sunday, Erling Haaland celebrated his hat-trick goal against Manchester United. Credit:PA

Haaland shows no signs of relenting. Especially since, unlike almost all of his Premier League counterparts, the Norwegian will benefit from a month-long break during the World Cup in December.

What's remarkable about Haaland's record-breaking is that he's not just breaking them; he's splattering them. Given that he is scoring at a rate of one goal every 53.8 minutes, it is perhaps not surprising that he now leads the list of Premier League players with the fewest touches per goal since the league's inception. But it is the magnitude of his rewriting of football history that stands out. Every 14 touches, Haaland scores. Jamie Vardy, the second-most prolific, takes 50.

His quick start is also evident in the table of the Premier League players who have scored three hat-tricks for their clubs. It's not as if the other people at the table were slackers. Following Haaland are Michael Owen (48), Ruud van Nistelrooy (59), Fernando Torres (64), and Andy Cole (65).However, the most relevant comparison with the true greats is in goals scored by the age of 22. Haaland leads the way with 170 , followed by Cristiano Ronaldo (50) and Lionel Messi (50). (44).
