Match Report: Amankona, Mukwala on target as Kotoko hit five past Deportivo in a friendly

Following the suspension of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League due to a court injunction, Asante Kotoko engaged Asokwa Deportivo in a friendly game on Wednesday morning.


The Porcupine Warriors hit five past the Division One League side at the Adako Jachie Sports Comple


Coach Seydou Zerbo commenced the game with Frederick Asare in posts. The back line included Agyapong, Asmah, Sherif, and Maxwell Agyeman


In midfield, Boadu alongside Morrison, Shadrack with Oppong, Amankona, and Mukwala leading the attac


Amankona, Mukwala, and Morrison gave Kotoko a 3-0 lead after an impressive start to the gam


After recess, Kotoko introduced a different set of player


Danlad, Appiah, Tedeku, Appau, Agyemang, and Sarkodie started the second hal


The others were Dickson, Rocky, Nico Mensah, Osei-Poku, and Boaten


The Reds continued from where they left off in the first half as Nicholas Mensah and Samuel Boateng scored two additional goal


Kotoko will continue with their preparation as they wait for the resumption of the league.

Eric Serge Zézé, an Ivorian box-to-box midfielder, joined Asante Kotoko from ASEC Mimosas in the most recent transfer window.


He was unable to play in Kotoko’s CAF Champions League match against Rail Club du Kadiogo due largely to a deficiency in travel paperwork.
