"It Was a Calm Way"
by Emily DickinsonIt was a calm way —
He inquired as to whether I was his —
I made no response of the Tongue
However, reply of the Eyes —
And afterward He bore me on
Prior to this human clamor
With quickness, as of Chariots
Also, distance, as of Wheels.
This World dropped away
As Sections of land from the feet
Of one that leaneth from Inflatable
Upon an Ether road.
The Inlet behind was not,
The Mainlands were new —
Time everlasting it was previously
Time everlasting was expected.
No Seasons were to us —
It was not Night nor Morn —
However, Dawn halted upon the spot
Also, attached it in Sunrise.
We didn't say fireflies
in any case, lightning bugs.
We didn't say merry go round
in any case, carousel.
Not teeter-totter,
seesaw
not candy,
sucker.
We didn't say pasta, however
spaghetti, macaroni, noodles:
the three sorts.
We didn't lash out:
we lashed out.
What's more, we never felt discouraged
daunted, frustrated
debilitated, deterred
baffled or anything,
indeed, even despondent:
just sad.Media
Everything Happens Two times
by Eve RobillardThat bird sitting stunned on the railing
has flown into your window before. The impasse road you've turned onto —
You did that simply last month. The bosscalling you into his office
has the same old thing to say. There are just such countless contents.
Everything happens twice. The companion who gets your parka
will acquire your waterproof shell tomorrow. The parentwho never adored you enough
is doing it from the grave. You are writingthe exact same sonnet
over and over again they are playingthat old, old melody yet it's never
the absolute last dance. So grin at the guywho drinks excessively —
the one with forget-me-not eyes. Sleepwith the person who calls you
by another lady's name.
[In answer to Journalists world]
"Love won't save you. Be that as it may, it will hold your hand while you save yourself. Furthermore, in a world that occasionally appears to be drained of goodness, in a world that occasionally feels too weighty to even consider bearing, I imagine that is all we are truly looking for. Somebody close by. Somebody who grounds us. Somebody who will discreetly embrace us for twenty minutes in a row while we figure everything out. I believe that is all anybody actually needs. Somebody who sees them. Somebody who stays." — Bianca Sparacino
