I've experienced a number of betrayals. Heavy betrayals and ungratefulness, particularly from those you go out of your way to serve, bless, and impart your life to. People who are aware that they wouldn't have been able to stand up in life or get anyone to listen to them without you, your contacts, and the opportunity you given them.

Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Presiding Archbishop and General Overseer of the Action Chapel International Ministry, has acknowledged that those who gain from his selflessness and generosity frequently betray and disrespect him.

He continued by saying that in addition to their lack of thanks, they even go so far as to try and cover up the fact that he had once assisted them.
"They even don't want anyone to know that you've ever blessed them. Then they proceed to stab you in the back. And they don't even want you to know that they are acquainted. And they take offense at the fact that God used you to guide them, not them. That makes them angry! And the fact that they relied on your connections to succeed rather than making it on their own hurts them. Therefore, they need to discover a means to eliminate you and quiet you so that the record you used to contribute to would never exist. Betrayals and extreme ingratitude, he continued.
However, he asserted that assisting others is at the heart of living and that betrayals and ungratefulness haven't stopped him from doing so.
When asked how he handles betrayals and lack of thanks, he replied that he does it by "mastering," which enables him to bounce back and continue helping people.
"You get mastery. You get it down. It will kill you if you don't learn how to control it. It'll prevent you from assisting others. But you have to keep doing good deeds because that's what life is all about, he said.
