Barcelona maintains their lead in la liga santander after defeating celta vigo at spotify camp nou for the seventh time in a row.

the catalans used a makeshift defense that included three left-backs in the starting lineup, with alejandro balde on the right and marcos alonso filling in as a central defender.

despite this, they kept a clean sheet and only needed one goal to earn the three points, despite intense late pressure from their galician opponents.

[] Barcelona wins against Celta Vigo to maintain their lead, but questions remain.

The deciding factor

The crucial moment of the game came from some sloppy defending by Unai Nunez, who looked to hook the ball clear but instead wrong-footed his own goalkeeper and played in Pedri.

The Spanish midfielder reacted quickly to tap the ball into the net, giving Barcelona the lead, which they would then defend for the rest of the game.

Celta's struggle

Celta Vigo's performance improved significantly after the goal, and they did threaten the Barcelona goal, with the closest they came to scoring being a goal ruled out for offside.

Iago Aspas also came close in the closing stages, forcing a fine save from Marc-Andre ter Stegen as the Celta Vigo attack kept the German goalkeeper on his toes.

With only 120 seconds remaining, Barcelona fans' hearts were in their mouths as Goncalo Paciencia smashed the post from close range, leaving the Barcelona defenders as spectators.

Because Eduardo Coudet was in Argentina for personal reasons, Ariel Broggi took over as head coach, stepping up from his usual role as assistant coach, but the visitors prevailed.

With one eye on Inter

Barcelona also sought to rest and rotate players, with Pedri and Raphinha coming off at the hour mark, ahead of what could be a season-defining Champions League match against Inter on Wednesday.

The Catalans will then travel to the Santiago Bernabeu to face Real Madrid in the Clasico next Sunday.
