Nanti yie wo m'anim': Agradaa's rendition of "Nanti yie wo m'anim" as she was being remanded in custody.
Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, the founder and leader of Heavenway Champion International Ministries, was remanded in an Accra District Court on Monday, October 10, 2022.
Agradaa, as she is popularly known, was charged with defrauding by false pretence and was denied bail by the court, which ordered her to reappear on Thursday, October 13, 2022.
While being arrested, the evangelist, who has denied defrauding her church members, led a moment of worship and praise by singing Mama Esther's Nedin Ni Yehowa (His Name is God).
She was joined in court by some of her church members and junior pastors who had come to support her.
While security officers bundled Agradaa into a waiting vehicle, her loud voice can be heard singing.
On Sunday, Agradaa was arrested for alleged money doubling and defrauding.
Nana Agradaa, now known as Evangelist Mama Pat, was arrested by the Ghana Police Service on Sunday, October 13, 2022.
On Sunday, October 9, 2022, the service issued a statement and shared it via its social media handles.
"The police arrested Patricia Asiedua alias Nana Agradaa after some members of the public accused her of a money-doubling scam." The suspect is currently assisting police with their investigation, according to the statement.
Nana Agradaa's arrest follows allegations made by a number of her church members that she had scammed them after an all-night service.
In a viral video, the former fetish priestess announced that she would distribute money to people who attended her all-night church service on Friday, October 7, 2022.
Things did not go as planned for many of the people who attended the service, as many of them complained that they had given her money but she had failed to keep her end of the bargain.
She is eventually reported to have escorted the people away from the church, prompting the online alarms.
The police have since called on all persons affected by the supposed scam to report to the Accra Regional Police Command to help with the investigations.
“Anyone who is a victim of the alleged money doubling scam should report to the Accra Regional Police Command for further action to assist the investigation,” it added.
