Baba Yara Stadium to host Ghana U23 AFCON Qualifier against Mozambique on October 30 Featured

The Ghana U-23 national team will host Mozambique at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in the second leg of the Africa U-23 Championship second round qualifiers.

Ghana were handed a walkover in the first round following their excellent performance previously, whiles Mozambique edged out Mauritius with a 5-1 on aggregate victory after two legs to reach this far.

The Mambas in this tie will play home first in Maputo on October 23, before they journey off to Kumasi for the return encounter in seven days time.

Ghana will hope to qualify to the main competition and subsequently secure Olympic Games ticket, having missed out since 2004 in Athens, Greece.

The Black Meteors came so close in 2019 in Egypt but unfortunately lost to South Africa in the third place playoff and failed to secure qualification.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko and his men are still in camp in Prampram, getting themselves ready for the task ahead as to look to by all means end the long eighteen year absence of making it to the Olympics.

The Mambas in this tie will play home first in Maputo on October 23, before they journey off to Kumasi for the return encounter in seven days time. His exceptional positional and tactical play weakened the Nsoatreman midfield and provided space for Kotoko, and he also neutralised the Accra Hearts of Oak midfield before being replaced.

The creative midfielder explained his early settling in the BetPawa Premier League in a post-match interview after being awarded the game’s Most Valuable Player versus Nsoatreman.

Zeze’s settlement may indeed be attributed to the fact that Kotoko’s technical team worked extremely hard on the Ivorian player after he signed a three-year deal with the BetPawa Premier League.

Last Wednesday, Zézé told StarTimes, “Yes, there is no mystery, and there isn’t much to say; I’d want to thank my coach and the technical staff. In reality, they have worked hard on me, which is why, despite the fact that I have never been to Ghana and have never played in the Ghana Premier League, I have been used to it in my first month. “
