HO AREA WOMEN'S MINISTRY COMMEMORATES INTERNATIONAL
DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD
The Women Minintry of The Church of Pentecost, Ho Area joined
the world in observing the International Day of the Girl Child with the Pupils
of the Pentecost Preparatory School in Ho Fiave on 10th October
2022.
The theme for the celebration was “International Day of the
Girl Child; Our Time Is Now”. As part of the program, Mrs. Gifty Letsa – the Head
of Guidance and Counselling Unit of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Schools in Ho and Deaconess Patricia Letsa, a
lecturer at the Mawuko Girls Senior High School spoke to the Pupils on the need
to remain discipline and morally upright in this contemporary times.
Dns. Fidelia Ametefe, the Area Women's Ministry Leader,
admonished the Pupils to stay away from immoral acts such as LGBTQI+ and remain
chaste while they focus on their academic works. She further encouraged the
pupils to take their studies serious in order for them to become responsible future
leaders who could impact their society and the nation at large.
The Ministry in their expression of love and care for the
Girl Child presented some items worth GHC 2,933.00. Some items donated to the
pupils were; 10 boxes of sanitary pads, Packs of disposable shaving sticks, Hand
sanitizers, 50 Exercise books, Packs of deodorants, Packs of paper napkins, Packs
of Toilet rolls and other toiletries.
In attendance were Mrs. Judith Viku – The Dome District Pastor’s
wife, The Area Women Ministry Executives and District Leaders and Executives from
the Municipal District of the Church of Pentecost as well as some Member of the
Church.
Districts outside the Municipal also observed the day and shared
pictures and reports on how the Day was observed in their various Districts. The program was well observed across the Area.
