This sexy wagon now has a significant impact on depreciation.
Americans who prefer SUVs have never been fans of station wagons. The Subaru Outback accounts for 85% of all wagon sales in the United States, representing just 1.4% of the market for wagons. However, a few automakers continue to offer them, including Jaguar, which will continue to offer a wagon for the 2020 model year.
Despite rumors that it would be discontinued, the Jaguar XF Sportbrake is still available for purchase in the United States for the 2018 model year. Although it may not be able to keep up with the Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon or the soon-to-be-released Audi RS6 Avant, the Jag has a significant advantage over its German rivals: It is now available at a bargain price. Why You Should Get One The Jaguar XF Sportbrake is one of the most stunning luxury automobiles we've ever seen. We could argue that the Volvo V90 is equally beautiful, and the new RS6 is certainly more aggressive.
However, doing so would take credit away from Jaguar for maintaining production of this useful artifact. The V90's more subdued styling and the sporty styling of wagons like the E63 and RS6 are perfectly combined in the Jag. Additionally, considering that Jaguars have a propensity to depreciate more quickly than they accelerate, the present time is an excellent time to purchase one used. The Cost Purchasing a brand-new 2020 XF Sportbrake is not an inexpensive venture. The Prestige model with a
turbocharged four-cylinder engine starts at $65,150, and moving up to the S model with a supercharged V6 costs $71,800. Although the Sportbrake has only been available for purchase since the 2018 model year, certified pre-owned prices begin at approximately $47,000. In just three years, the 2018 model has already lost nearly one third of its value due to the fact that it was only available in the S trim level for a price of $70,450.
The XF Sportbrake looks like a smart purchase when you combine this with Jaguar's excellent CPO program. A basic and powertrain warranty that lasts seven years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the original in-service date are included in every Jaguar CPO vehicle, as well as a dealer-certified 165-point inspection. The Performance At first, Jaguar only offered the XF Sportbrake as an S model with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that delivered 380 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. In this more powerful version, going from 0 to 60 mph takes about 5.3 seconds. For 2019, Jaguar added a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-
cylinder engine that produces 296 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque and is available with all-wheel drive. Compared to the V6's 21 mpg, the four-cylinder's 0-60 mph time is slightly slower at 5.7 seconds. The interior of the Jaguar XF features an inoffensive design language that is clean and simple, and the V6 seems to be worth it based on current used prices. Although its technology isn't quite as good as that of Audi and Mercedes, most of the major features of a modern luxury car can be found here. Since Jaguar never offered a "base" Sportbrake model in the United States, each one comes pretty well equipped. The Chequered Flag Edition's black-and-red interior, for
example, is one of the two-tone options available for the cabin. The XF Sportbrake's large cargo area is the primary reason you'd choose it over a standard sedan. With the seats folded down, the Jaguar Wagon has 31.7 cubic feet of space behind the second row. In contrast, the XF sedan only has 17.8 cubic feet of storage space in the trunk. Even though the Jaguar F-Pace SUV has more space behind the second row (33.5 cubic feet), its shorter length means that it has less overall storage space (63.5 cubic feet). Conclusion The XF Sportbrake is uncommon in the United States. Compared to the F-Pace SUV, which sells nearly 15,000 copies per year, Jaguar sells fewer than 500 of these vehicles
annually. As a result, we were unable to locate more than a dozen CPO examples priced between $47,000 and $61,000 for sale. We strongly recommend purchasing a quality example as soon as possible if you can find one in your area before it is too old to be eligible for Jaguar's CPO program.
