After being fired by Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel 'turns down two Premier League clubs.'
According to reports, the ex-Chelsea manager has been relieved of his duties in west London, but he is still attracting interest from clubs across Europe.
Despite being fired from his position at Stamford Bridge, former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is clearly still in high demand.
The German oversaw Chelsea's second Champions League triumph in 2021, but he was fired 15 months later after the Blues' slow start to the current season. While he has since been replaced by ex-Brighton manager Graham Potter, Tuchel's stock remains high, and he is said to have received multiple job offers.
The Telegraph reports that two of those offers came from unnamed Premier League clubs and one from La Liga. This report comes as Tuchel's name is being floated as a possible successor to Gareth Southgate as England manager.
The Three Lions enter the up - coming Qatar World Cup in some of the worst form in recent memory, which has sparked speculation about Southgate's future, with many believing that he will step down regardless of how England performs in the tournament.
If that is the case, Tuchel is reportedly open to the idea of succeeding Southgate as Three Lions manager. While it is unclear whether the FA will choose a foreign manager for the first time since Fabio Capello, Tuchel clearly cares about England and is more than qualified for the job.
Tuchel's daughters have gone to school in Surrey, and he has lived near Chelsea's Cobham training ground. There were a few according to recent reports, the 49-year-old could be forced to leave the country 90 days after being fired as Blues manager due to post-Brexit visa issues.
That problem has yet to be resolved, but if Tuchel is hired by England or any other national team, he will be granted a new Governing Body Endorsement visa, which will allow him to stay in the country for the foreseeable future.
Tuchel has already turned down offers from two Premier League clubs and one Spanish club, indicating that he is more than willing to wait for what he considers to be the right role before returning to elite management.
Tuchel's apparent willingness to wait could indicate that he has his sights set firmly on the England job.
Meanwhile, Southgate has admitted that there is obvious pressure on him to deliver results, and that if he fails, he understands that he could lose his job and be replaced.
"As we speak, I'm contracted to this time in 2024, but I'm also well aware that in football, you have to get results," England head coach Gareth Southgate said at last week's Euro 2024 qualifying draw.
"So the plan is there, as is the desire for continuity, but I don't take it for granted that you don't underperform and expect to stay in that office."
