Kylian Mbappe tops the list of 2022 top scorers, but Erling Haaland is now only a few goals behind the wanted-away Frenchman.
The criteria: All club goals in all competitions for clubs in the top five leagues.
10) Neymar - PSG (21 goals)
No goals in October are being cited as the reason Kylian Mbappe wants to leave PSG. The rest of 2022 went much better for the Brazilian.
Ciro Immobile (Lazio) (22 goals)
He's 32 years old and still going strong. Six goals in nine Serie A games this season is impressive for a striker who has scored 20 goals in five of his six full seasons with Lazio. That has to be one of the best £8.5m investments of all time.
7) Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane (25 goals)
By mid-October, he had surpassed his 2021 total, which is incredible work from a striker who must be furious that Erling Haaland has arrived and effectively eliminated his chances of winning the Golden Boot.
9) Sadio Mane - Liverpool/Bayern Munich (22 goals)
Mo Salah's hat-trick against Rangers has moved him ahead of Jarrod Bowen in terms of goals scored in 2022, but the suspicion remains that Liverpool sold the wrong player. Mane hasn't exactly flown in Munich, but he hasn't exactly flopped either. He is decent.
6) Wissam Monaco - Ben Yedder (25 goals)
He wasn't even in the latest France squad after his goals dried up earlier this season, but he has since responded with a hat-trick v Nantes and a couple of goals v Trabzonspor in the Europa League to give Didier Deschamps some (lovely French) food for thought.
5) Karim Benzema - Real Madrid (27 goals)
Failing to score in two games against Shakhtar is not ideal, but he is currently absolutely f***ing nailed on for the Ballon dOr, so he probably doesn't care.
4) RB Leipzig's Christopher Nkunku (30 goals)
He is a Real Madrid target as the long-term successor to Karim Benzema, and he is currently second in the Bundesliga top scorer charts this season. And they still can't get a France start because of Oliver Giroud.
3) Borussia Dortmund/Manchester City's Erling Haaland (30 goals)
Has played the least amount of football of anyone on this list, but has already scored a frankly incredible 20 goals for Manchester City. More of his ridiculous statistics can be found here. Every 71 minutes, people.
2) Bayern Munich/Robert Barcelona's Lewandowski (34 goals)
Barcelona has only scored 14 goals so far, which seems entirely reasonable. He was the leading scorer in 2021 and will be very close again this year. But no Ballons for you, Robbie. Is he ever referred to as Robbie? Or Bob? That's something to think about.
1) PSG's Kylian Mbappe (36 goals)
Is it a goal every 82 minutes for PSG in 2022? And wishes to leave. So we've been told. What will happen in January?

BAYERN MUNICH & PSG MAKE CONTACT TO SIGN £41M MANCHESTER CITY STAR
Following the injury to Aymeric Laporte, the Netherlands international has become a favorite of Pep Guardiola this season, making five Premier League starts.
It marks a significant turnaround for Ake at the Etihad Stadium, after he was on the verge of rejoining Chelsea in a deal worth more than £40 million over the summer, according to the Guardian.
More of Europe's elite are now interested in the man who cost Manchester City £41 million to sign from Bournemouth.Bayern Munich and PSG, according to 90min, have been in contact with the Citizens about a deal for the Dutchman, while Juventus and Inter Milan are also interested.
Manchester City, on the other hand, has no intention of selling their No.6 anytime soon after his resurgence in Manchester, and are in no rush to cash in with Ake under contract until July 2025.
However, we wouldn't be surprised if Ake forced his way out of the Etihad Stadium once Laporte regains full fitness, as the Spain international is ahead of him in the pecking order when fully fit.
