Top 10 European athletes who might have competed for Ghana.

Welbeck made the decision to represent England.

Memphis Depay, a Dutch player who has played for some of the best clubs in Europe, is getting close to 100 caps for his country. Before joining Barcelona, he had success at PSV Eindhoven and Olympique Lyonnais after failing to make an impression at Manchester United.

His father Dennis, a Ghanaian, may have represented him.

Ionut Williams

Williams, who made his Spain debut during the most recent international break as his brother Inaki was making his Black Stars debut, may be the most recent player Ghana has lost to a European power.

At the forthcoming World Cup, the older brother might have more to give, but in the long run, could Nico emerge as the true talent of the two?

Justin Doku

Doku, a Stade Rennais wonderkid with 10 Belgium caps to his name, began his career at Anderlecht before switching to Ligue 1.

He may be a Red Devils star for the next ten years at the age of 20.

Henrichs, Benjamin

A gifted utility player with a lot to offer both in midfield and at full back.

Henrichs started out at Bayer Leverkusen, then played for AS Monaco and RB Leipzig before joining them in the Bundesliga.

Even though his mother made him eligible for Ghana, he made his Germany debut in 2016.

Boateng, Jerome

Boateng, another representative of Germany, spent eleven years with Bayern Munich after playing for Manchester City and HSV Hamburg.

After playing with his brother Kevin-Prince Boateng, a Ghanaian international, at the 2010 World Cup, he spent nine years as a member of the German national team and won the 2014 World Cup.

Odjidja-Ofoe Vadis

Odjidja-Ofoe registered for a Ghana passport just weeks before making his international debut for Belgium, giving his ancestral country of Ghana hope that he would play for the Black Stars.

In the end, he made three appearances for the Red Devils, never making an impression and dash any dreams of ever playing for the West African powerhouse.

After stints with Olympiacos, Norwich City, and Rotherham United, he is currently back in Belgium with Gent.

Myron Boadu, a striker from Amsterdam who made his debut for the Netherlands in 2019, has played for the top European teams from the U-15 level up to the U-21 level.

Before joining AS Monaco at the beginning of last season, he had an impressive scoring record over his four seasons in the top flight with AZ Alkmaar, averaging a goal every other game.

In November 2019, the poacher scored his first goal for the Netherlands in a 5-0 thrashing of Estonia.

Robin Quaison Forward Quaison's father might have represented Ghana, but he ultimately decided to choose Sweden, the country of his birth.

He has played 44 times for the team thus far, and he has represented them at both the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2017 European Championships.

After being defeated by Poland in their playoff, Quaison and the Swedes will not be competing in the World Cup.

Dwight Welbeck

Welbeck spent six years as a young prospect at Manchester United before being traded to Arsenal in 2014 for £16 million. During that time, he scored 20 league goals for the Red Devils.

Injury setbacks hampered his development, and he only managed to score 16 goals in 42 appearances for England.

At the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, he did represent the Three Lions, but it's enticing to think about what he may have accomplished with Ghana's Black Stars.

Mario Balotelli Controversial former Italy striker who was outstanding at Euro 2012 and also helped Manchester City win the Premier League.

Too frequently, Balotelli's talent was overshadowed by his negative attitude, and the 32-year-old never fully realized the potential he showed as a young player at Internazionale.

Super Mario was only 16 years old when Ghana called him up in 2007, but he declined the call-up because he wanted to one day play for Italy.
