After falling out of favor under Ten Hag and starting the game against Spurs once more on the bench, the Red Devils legend has only started six games this season and scored twice.

After Ten Hag had made all of his substitutions, Ronaldo sparked even more controversy when he left the Old Trafford tunnel with 89 minutes remaining.

Because of this, the Dutchman has removed Ronaldo from the team that will travel to Chelsea on Saturday evening.

While the Premier League season is in full swing, the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup started on Saturday in Australia. United tweeted pictures of several former cricketers, including Pietersen, with the following caption: It's the T20 World Cup season.

Over the years, "we've welcomed cricketing legends, played at iconic venues, and met a lot of heroes!"

The former England captain, on the other hand, responded to the post with the following rant: "Can you please remove my picture?"

“I don't want to be associated with a club run by a clown who totally disrespects the greatest footballer of our time."

"@cristiano is in charge! It's time to wake up that clown who no one will ever remember!

Ronaldo defends his walk-off As for Ronaldo, he has since reversed his actions and posted an Instagram apology of sorts.

The 37-year-old author wrote: "I try to live and play my game with respect for my teammates, opponents, and coaches, as I have always done." That is still the case. I have not altered.

I'm still the same person and professional I was when I played elite football for 20 years. Additionally, respect has always been a crucial factor in my decision-making process. Since I was a young player, the examples of more experienced players were always very important to me.

As a result, as I've gotten older, I've always tried to set an example for the young players on every team I've been a part of. Sadly, that isn't always possible, and sometimes our emotions get the better of us. At the moment, all I can think of is that I need to keep working hard in Carrington, support my teammates, and be prepared for anything that may come up in a game. There is no way to give in to the pressure.

It never existed. This is Manchester United, and we must remain united. Soon we'll be back together.

If United win at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, they can leapfrog Chelsea and climb into the top four.
