Barcelona won 4-0. Bilbao Athletic
The excellent performance of Ousmane Dembele led Barcelona to a decisive victory over Athletic Bilbao, but it came at the expense of Gavi's injury.
Gavi, who won the Golden Boy award for Europe's best young player last week, collapsed to the ground in the first half, clutching his groyne.
He scored the game's first goal after leaping to meet a cross from the left wing delivered by Robert Lewandowski with a powerful header. His partnership with Sergi Roberto was a highlight throughout the night, and they combined for the second goal when the right back's attempt was deflected in off of Inigo Martinez. When they combined for the fourth, they also combined for the third.
Sergi, sadly, had to leave the field in the final minutes while holding his arm.
The third and fourth goals came from perfectly timed diagonal balls from the right flank. The first of these balls allowed Lewandowski to turn and slam the ball home, while the second met the run of substitute Ferran Torres, who slipped the ball past Unai Simon.
The win pulls Barcelona within three points of Real Madrid.Lewandowski provided the assist for Dembele's first goal, which he scored after lofting the ball for him to head in.
Dembele's pass to Sergi Roberto made the score 2-0, and he also set up Ferran Torres' late fourth goal.
Barcelona put in a dominant performance, but the victory lost some luster when Roberto left the game with a shoulder injury late in the game.Despite Real Madrid's 3-1 victory over Sevilla on Saturday, Barcelona's second consecutive victory keeps them in contention for the title.
After 11 games, Real Madrid leads with 31 points, while Barcelona is second with 28 points.

Manchester United stepping up chase for Brazilian wonderkid Endrick
Manchester United has increased their interest in Brazilian wonderkid Endrick, who has been tracked by a number of clubs.
According to Caio Carrieri, a journalist, who tweeted:
“Information:
"Manchester United" adds to Endrick's observation.
"Club guidance is to scout in Brazil to attend as many Palmeiras games as possible and evaluate the boy's development in situ."
"United observer has already made his debut against Coritiba."
(Twitter translation)
Endrick made his senior debut earlier this month, becoming the club's youngest player ever.At the time, the striker was sixteen years, two months, and sixteen days old.
Endrick, regarded as one of the world's best young players, has drawn comparisons to Brazilian legends Ronaldo and Romario.
The player is not allowed to move until he is 18, but a number of top European clubs are keeping an eye on his situation.
United could reach an agreement ahead of time, but Palmeiras would almost certainly point to Endrick's release clause if they tried. That clause is set at €40 million, which would be a significant financial commitment for a player who would be unable to play or even train for the club for the next two years.
Endrick has that kind of potential; it's not out of the question that a club will look to sign him soon.
Real Madrid struck a similar deal with Flamengo, paying €45 million to ensure Vinicius Junior's future in Spain.
If Endrick continues to impress for Palmeiras' senior team, it will only be a matter of time before he is signed.
