Barcelona, AC Milan, Juventus, and Sevilla, among other teams, are in a must-win situation as they prepare to face their opponents in the Champions League on Matchday 5.




Barcelona will be eliminated from the Champions League if they lose or draw against Bayern Munich. Here are the essentials to know ahead of Tuesday and Wednesday night football.

Karim Benzema (34) of Real Madrid was named World Footballer of the Year at the Ballon d'Or gala last Monday. The Spaniards must now pay for their victory.


Why is this so?


According to the English "Sun," the Spanish top club must pay more than a million euros to Benzema's former club Olympique Lyon - 13 years after the Frenchman's departure!


The Ballon d'Or winners joined Los Blancos from Ligue 1 club in the summer of 2009 for a club-record fee of 35 million euros.


In 148 competitive games for Lyon, Benzema has scored 66 goals and provided 27 assists.Lyon were already banking on Benzema having a successful career when they sold him to Real, according to the report. The transfer fee could have risen to 41 million euros with bonus payments. One of these payments is now on its way. Real must transfer more than one million euros to Lyon in order for Benzema to achieve world footballer success! Last season, Benzema (329 goals and 160 assists in 616 games for Real Madrid) scored 44 goals in 46 games and was instrumental in Real Madrid winning the Champions League. Furthermore, the Spanish championship, the local championship, and the European Super Cup have all been won together.
