Superagent warns Barcelona that if his playing time does not improve, the teenage prodigy may leave.
Ansu Fati has mostly played from the bench this season, having started only two of his last ten games across all competitions. As a result, his representatives have warned Barcelona that if the situation continues, the player may leave in the summer.
Until the recent Bayern Munich game at Camp Nou, the 19-year-old winger had appeared in all 11 La Liga games and five UEFA Champions League matches for Barcelona. Surprisingly, he has only started three of those sixteen games.
Given the current situation, Alfredo Martinez of Diario SPORT reported that Fati's camp, represented by super agent Jorge Mendes, has warned Barcelona that if the teenager's playing status is not changed, he will consider leaving the team by the end of the season.
Barcelona is unconcerned about the situation, owing to the fact that the player has a contract until 2027, and his €1 billion release clause makes it impossible for any team to even consider acquiring him.
After months of negotiations, Fati, 19, committed his long-term future to the Blaugrana in October 2021. He was expected to be an unbeatable presence in the starting XI after signing a long-term contract, but injuries have prevented him from doing so.
It is now understood that Xavi and his coaching staff have been extremely cautious about his niggles, which is why he is not playing regularly.
All of this, however, is upsetting to the player and his agents, who feel that even though the youngster has been healthy this year, Ousmane Dembele has permanently replaced him and is being favoured over the Spaniard.
Despite the warnings, Barcelona is remarkably composed about the circumstance, and truthfully, they have every right to be composed about the situation of the young prospect .
