Sadio Mane sends another message to Liverpool following Jurgen Klopp's admission that he "misses him."
Sadio Mane continued his excellent form in front of goal for Bayern Munich on Wednesday, scoring the opening goal in their Champions League victory away at Barcelona.
Sadio Mane scored another important goal for Bayern Munich after Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted that the Senegalese forward was "missed."
Mane left Liverpool for Bayern Munich in a £35.1 million deal this summer. After making it clear that he wanted a new challenge, the experienced forward ended six trophy-laden seasons at Anfield.
The forward made an immediate impact for the Bundesliga giants, scoring four goals in his first four games. He has now scored 10 goals for his new club, including the game-winning goal against Barcelona on Wednesday night at the Camp Nou.
Mane finished cool, calm, and collected, scoring in his third consecutive Champions League game for Bayern, and his fifth in his last eight matches in all competitions for the club.
Mane scored 120 goals in 269 appearances for Liverpool and won six major awards during his time in Jurgen Klopp's squad, with the Reds struggling to adjust to life without the forward, who was consistently excellent throughout his time at Anfield.
"A good guy and a top player," Klopp said of Mane earlier this month on Sky Germany. But his absence suggests that I still want him here. Sadio's desire to try something new is understandable, in my opinion.
"That is exactly what occurred. Missing? Yes! But I'm also content. He's exactly where he wanted to be. We'll work out our issues here. Sadio is a fantastic player. Everyone in Munich saw it as well. He is truly world-class. Everything will be alright."
It was Bayern's second 0-3 victory at the Camp Nou in as many seasons, having won there against Barcelona at the same stage of the competition last season. Julian Nagelsmann's side displayed yet another ruthlessness, with Serge Gnabry assisting himself to a hat-trick.
Mane scored after a fine Gnabry pass, and Erick Choupo-Moting doubled the lead. Gnabry's third goal for Bayern was ruled out for offside, but Benjamin Pavard put the cherry on top with a late goal to seal the victory.
