Napoli has been outstanding in the 2022/23 season, going undefeated in their group. They have already scored 20 goals in five games this tournament and need to score five goals in their final group game to equal Paris Saint-2017/18 Germain's record of 25 goals in six UEFA Champions League games. Other top European teams, however, have scored more than 20 goals in a UEFA Champions League group stage.Bayern Munich scored 22 goals in the 2021/22 season and 24 goals in six games during the 2017/18 season. Liverpool and Dortmund also made the top five list, with the Merseyside club scoring 23 goals in six UEFA Champions League group stage games in 2017/18. According to the above statistics, Napoli could easily break the record of Bayern Munich, Liverpool, or Dortmund if they score three or more goals in their final group stage games this season. However, four other clubs managed to score 20 goals in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Ajax Amsterdam are among these clubs. The majority of these top ten clubs went on to win the tournament that season.

Real Madrid to profit after Barcelona, Atletico Madrid & Sevilla knocked out of Champions League

Real Madrid stands to profit financially if Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Sevilla all exit the Champions League group stage this season.

Even though there is still one matchday left in this phase, Real Madrid will be the only Spanish club in the knockout stages. Barcelona and Sevilla will both drop into the Europa League as third-place finishes are already guaranteed, while Atletico may be eliminated from Europe entirely if they finish bottom of their group next week.

As Spain's sole representative in the knockout stages, Real will take the entirety of the country's remaining share of UEFA's market pool, which will grow as they progress.UEFA has set aside an estimated total prize pot of €2 billion for the 32 clubs competing in the Champions League group stage and beyond this season. Of that money, 25% is designated as starting prize money for simply making it to the group stage, 30% as performance-related fixed amounts, and 30% as coefficient-based amounts.
