Here are the top goal scorers in the UEFA Champions League this season; Yesterday was the final matchday of the UEFA Champions League, and we saw some massive clubs crash out of Europe's most elite club competition. As the action has already concluded, here is an update on the most prolific scorers thus far this season.
Lionel Messi - 4 PSG
Lionel Messi, a seven-time Ballon d'Or winner and Paris Saint-Germain player, is ranked fifth with four goals. He has also broken the record for most goals scored in the group stages of this tournament. Only Cristiano Ronaldo comes close to matching his tally of 80 goals.
4. Erling Haaland - 5 Man City
Erling Haaland has scored five goals in the UEFA Champions League this season, which is an unexpected total given his current form. Having 5 goals on matchday 5 is still a good record. I'm sure he'll try to avoid his competitors.
5. Robert Lewandowski -
After his team was knocked out of the Champions League last night, Robert Lewandowski's season total in the competition stands at 5 goals. He will be able to compete for the Europa League top goalscorer award. This is the second time in Xavi's tenure that Barcelona has failed to qualify for the knockout phase of the Champions League.
2. Mohammed Salah (Liverpool) - 6
With six goals, Liverpool striker Mohammed Salah ranks second on the list. Salah will be able to add to his tally because Liverpool has already qualified for the knockout stage.
1. Kylian Mbappe (PSG) - 6
Another PSG player on this list is Kylian Mbappe, who has six goals this season, putting him at the top of the list of most prolific goal scorers. His partnership with Lionel Messi and Neymar is devastating for opposing defenders; it's no surprise he's at the top of the rankings.

the future of a nugget should be decided after the World Cup!
Pablo Torre (19), who joined Barça this summer for a fee of 5 million euros from Racing Santander, has played very little with the first team. The young Spaniard has only played 11 minutes in La Liga this season, and that was against Bilbao last weekend. In the Champions League, Pablo Torre played 10 minutes against Plzen last September and came into play on Wednesday evening, during Barça's rout of Bayern Munich (0-3) at home. The 19-year-old midfielder was made available to FC Barcelona's B team (Barça Atlètic) until the beginning of October.Even though his situation has improved and he is still called up to Xavi's group, the Spaniard does not play and enters the game only briefly. The Spanish coach does not appear to be counting on him in a position that is already well-stocked (De Jong, Kessié, Pedri, Gavi...). As a result, Pablo Torre could be loaned out quickly.
After the World Cup, a decision will be made!
According to Spanish journalist Alfred Martinez, Barcelona would not be willing to loan their young nugget for the remainder of the season at this time. The Catalan club would like to retain complete control over the player's development, but a final decision will be made after the World Cup in January. Pablo Torre is under contract with Barcelona until June 2026 and would not mind a loan to get more playing time than he currently has. Case to come.
