Liverpool, Arsenal keen on 10-goal midfielder, Jurgen Klopp a fan of player
Xavi Simons, a midfielder for PSV Eindhoven, has been linked with a move away from the club, with Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool mentioned as possible destinations.
Arsenal and Liverpool, according to Fichajes, are looking to improve their midfield options and have identified the 19-year-old Dutchman as a possible target.
It is no secret that Liverpool requires midfield reinforcements as soon as possible. Jordan Henderson and James Milner are past their prime. Since joining the club, Naby Keita, Thiago Alcântara, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all suffered from injuries.Bringing in a quality midfielder like Simons should be the club's top priority this summer.
According to the report, Jurgen Klopp admires the player and his technical abilities.
Meanwhile, Arsenal is looking to add depth to their squad, and it will be interesting to see how Simons fits into the starting lineup if the move goes through.
This season, the 19-year-old has been a key player for PSV, with 10 goals and four assists across all competitions.Simons is primarily an attacking midfielder, but he can also play centrally. Arsenal already has players in that position such as Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe, and Mikel Arteta may find it difficult to give Simons regular starts at the London club.
In theory, the youngster would benefit more from a move to Liverpool, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
