Arsenal can finally land winger signing by beating Man Utd to discounted £25m bargain

Arsenal could sign PSV starlet Cody Gakpo for as little as £25 million this January if they want to pursue a deal for the flying Dutchman, who helped them lose in the Europa League on Thursday night in Eindhoven. The Gunners have long been linked with the 23-year-old as he continues to produce big numbers in the Eredivisie, where he is widely regarded as one of the division's best players.Gakpo has been involved in 27 goals this season (scored 13, assisted 14) across all competitions, making him one of Europe's most in-form players.

In midweek, his electric acceleration and attacking threat were on full display as PSV ruthlessly punished a lacklustre Arsenal performance at the Philips Station.

In the summer transfer window, Arsenal were looking into bringing in another winger to compete with Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.Following a thorough market search, Mikel Arteta and Edu decided to postpone plans to sign another forward until a later date, instead prioritising a central midfielder after Aston Villa rejected three bids for Douglas Luiz on deadline day.According to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, PSV is experiencing financial difficulties off the field, which could force them to sell Gakpo mid-season.

According to the Dutch press, PSV cannot afford to turn down any offer worth more than £25 million - a steal for a player of Gakpo's caliber.

He is expected to play for the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar, where his stock is expected to skyrocket, providing a welcome boost for PSV.
