Arsenal star could leave next summer after just 12 months in London
Arsenal reclaimed first place in the Premier League with a 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at The Emirates on Sunday.
Gabriel Martinelli put The Gunners ahead early on, but Reiss Nelson's second-half brace put the hosts in command.
Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard then scored to give Mikel Arteta's team an emphatic victory and return them to the top of the table.
Gabriel Jesus was once again impressive for The Gunners, setting up goals for Nelson and Odegaard, but it now appears that Arsenal will have to fight to keep the Brazilian.Real Madrid, according to Goal via The Sun, are considering a move for the forward next summer.
Jesus, 25, only joined Arsenal from Manchester City this summer, but Real Madrid were reportedly interested in him before he moved to the capital.
According to reports, the Champions League holders decided against pursuing a deal for Jesus due to a "issue with the player's passport."
When he moved from Manchester to London, the Brazilian international cost Arsenal around £47 million. However, with manager Carlo Ancelotti still a big fan of the striker, they could revive their interest and try to sign him next summer.
Jesus has scored five goals and provided seven assists for Arsenal this season, helping Arteta's team to the top of the table.Madrid's current star forward is Karim Benzema, who won the Ballon d'Or last week, but Jesus is thought to be a possible replacement for the Frenchman, who turns 35 in December.
Ancelotti has compiled a five-man target list for next summer, which includes Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich, Brazilian wonderkid Endrick, Enzo Fernandez, and Piero Hincapie.
Jesus' current contract with Arsenal expires in the summer of 2027, so Arsenal would be under very little pressure to sell next summer.
Arsenal's next Europa League match is at home against FC Zurich, followed by a trip across London to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
