Ghanaian-born winger of the national team of Italy and Korea-based winger Maxwell Boadu Acosty expressed regrets about his nationality switch to represent the European country.
The 31-year-old Maxwell Boadu Acosty who is a former player of Fiorentina in the Italian Seria A league was born in the capital of the Bono Region, Sunyani and moved to Italy at a very tender age, spending most of his life and playing career at Fiorentina.
Despite representing the Ghana national team at the youth side, he decided to switch nationality to play for Italy, a decision that he regrets over.
"I regret choosing the Italian national team instead of Ghana, he said as quoted by biz.chosun.com.
Maxwell Boadu Acosty after twelve years in Europe is now in Asia, where he plays in the Korean league for FC Anyang. He is one of the best and key players for FC Anyang putting the ball in the net of their opponents seven times and providing eleven assists in the 2022 regular season.
Maxwell Boadu Acosty moved to Italy in 2008 and joined Regglana before he moved to Fiorentina a year on. Other clubs he has played for in the past are Crotone and HNK Rijeka.
The Ghanaian born Italian winger in the last three games in the post season scored a goal for his side.
He has won two league titles with his former Croatian club.
In a recent conversation about the Ghanaian team and it's chances at the World Cup, the Korea-based Ghanaian believes the Black Stars will be too strong a team for the Asians especially the second match against South Korea.
He adds that he knows the South Korean team has quality players but the black Stars will defeat them by three goals to one.
Maxwell Boadu Acosty added he has no option than to support Ghana in the World Cup.
