New video of PSG star Lionel Messi's comments prior to the Copa America final
With Argentina, Lionel Messi won his first significant championship last summer.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar has accomplished his biggest football objective after experiencing numerous heartbreaks, including three final losses in the span of three years.
Angel Di Maria's lone goal helped Argentina defeat Brazil at the storied Maracana Stadium to win the 2021 Copa America.
Messi's teammates rushed over to embrace him as soon as the referee blew the final whistle that evening in Rio because they all understood how important the win was to him.
Incredible 2021 Copa America campaign from Messi
The Argentina captain and Barcelona icon excelled at the 2021 Copa America. At the competition, he contributed to five further goals with five assists, a performance that earned him the coveted Golden Ball award.
Additionally, Messi not only delivered a ton of on-field masterclasses but also played a crucial role off the field, as evidenced by video from an upcoming Netflix documentary.
A brief video clip from the documentary, titled "Champions of America," which will be released on December 3rd, includes the entirety of Messi's address in the locker room prior to the championship match against Brazil.
It's heartbreaking, and the video also reveals an entirely different side of Messi than the reserved, silent persona that we've all grown accustomed to over the years.
Your body starting to get goosebumps? You're not alone there, so don't worry.
In the locker room, what did Messi say to his teammates?
According to @AlbicelesteTalk, Messi said: "Thank you guys. I appreciate you giving me these 45 days. I said to you on my birthday how much I liked being a part of our lovely group. 45 days were spent traveling, eating, and being confined to motels. 45 days have passed since we last saw our families, men. Even though Dibu [Emi Martinez] had a daughter, he was unable to see her.
He was unable to embrace her in his arms. He barely had a brief opportunity to interact with Chino's son. For what purpose? for the now. because we set a goal and are on the verge of accomplishing it. You know what's the best of them all, right? that depends on us in this. For this reason, we're going to walk out onto the field and raise the trophy. We're taking it to Argentina so we can enjoy it there with our loved ones, friends, and all the people who have always been there for us. The last thing before I sign off is that nothing is a coincidence, guys. Although God wants it to be played, this cup was supposed to be played in Argentina.
So enter the field with confidence and composure; we'll win the cup.

How about some motivation, huh?
The video footage above is all the proof you need to show someone that Messi is a world-class leader in addition to arguably being the greatest football player in history.
Perhaps Messi will make a similar remark in the locker room before the Qatar World Cup final on December 18.
Can you identify each of these 30 World Cup players who "streets won't forget"?
