A year after being rejected, Manchester United "revives interest in Jude Bellingham."
According to reports, Manchester United has rekindled its interest in Jude Bellingham, the talented young player for Borussia Dortmund.
Bellingham, 19, passed over United two years ago in favor of moving to Germany, and his performances have since improved.
Bellingham decided to leave United in 2020, and it is said that United made every effort to sign the midfielder with Birmingham roots. That included Sir Alex Ferguson giving them a tour of the team's Carrington practice facility.
Bellingham moved to the Bundesliga because he thought his future was better off with the German team, who in recent years had decided for a policy of buying young talent to develop and then sell on.
The Star reports that despite turning them down two years ago, a number of clubs are expected to rekindle their interest in the midfielder in the coming months.
Bellingham is not anticipated to be inexpensive; Borussia Dortmund is only likely to be interested in offers around the £100 million range. His contract with the German team is up in 2025.
Bellingham's future at the German club appears to be growing more questionable as a result of his good performances this season, particularly maybe in Europe where he has captained Borussia Dortmund this season.
Bellingham's rejection of the former Birmingham City midfielder is said to have taken United by surprise, as it does with the majority of large teams in Europe.
They are unlikely to be the only ones pursuing Bellingham because of his incredible ascent to fame, which has seen him become one of Europe's top midfielders while still a youngster.
There have been rumors for a while now that Jurgen Klopp and the Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have chosen Bellingham to replace their aging midfield.
