The president of Dalex Finance, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, was pleaded upon to restore the failing economy by Ken Thompson, the company's chief executive.
Ken Thompson explained what he believes will happen in the following few weeks during an interview with Citi News is not good.
He claims that the deteriorating economy is causing poverty, the failure of enterprises, the loss of jobs, and many other problems.
He warned that many Ghanaians will be pushed to act in ways they never imagined they would if nothing was done about it.
The 61-year-old billionaire claimed that while he is powerless to solve the nation's problems, he has faith that the President can.
As a result, Ken Thompson pleaded with President Akufo-Addo to act swiftly to rebuild the nation's economy because he is capable of doing so.
“His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa, what I can see coming is not good, I can see poverty I can see job losses, I can see business closures, I can see prices of electricity going up, I can see it. I lived through the 70s and I saw it.”
“I can’t do much about the problem now but you can and I am begging you, please take decisive actions because I believe that you are capable of and let’s move this country forward”, he pleaded.
Indeed the hard times that people are facing is something that was never envisaged. People have lost their jobs and even some businesses are collapsing as a result of the ailing economy. Business owners are becoming poorer each day as the cedi keeps on depreciating. Many have called for pragmatic measures from the government to help to solve this mess however it seems to prove futile.
The President gave his words of assurance during his address to the nation. It seems people are not really satisfied with that and are therefore demanding more.
