PRESS RELEASED FROM THE WAEC OFFICE CONCERNING THE RELEASING DATE OF THE 2022 WASSCE RESULTS.

The date for the release of 2022 WASSCE results has been made public by WAEC. According to information picked by Ghana Education News from AcademicWeek news portal, WAEC has disclosed in an interview granted to them that, not too many errors were detected in the marking of the WASSCE 2022 scripts which has made their work less stressful.

Based on the above and other favourable issues, the 2022 WASSCE results of candidates will be released 45 days after the conduct of the last paper of the examination.

WAEC is poised to reduce the delays that have characterized the release of results in recent times from between 60 and 90 days to the standard 45 days.

Since the final paper was written on 27th September, 2022, the date for the release of 2022 WASSCE results should be not later than 10th November if the results are to be released within 45 days.

“WAEC corrects all errors detected in the marking of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination scripts, so if there are too many errors or mistakes then the release of the results might delay a little,” the Council official stated.

The duration for the marking of the 2022 WASSCE for School scripts and candidates’ results release date he indicated will be determined by the RPCC, a committee he said is under the auspices of the West African Examinations Council.

He said this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results when out will be hosted online at the non-profit-making organization results checking portal at https://ghana.waecdirect.org/ for candidates’ access.

‘WAEC before the release of the results will report exams malpractice cases recorded during the conduct of the WASSCE and those detected in the marking of the scripts to the Ghana Examinations Committee,” he added.

This the Council member said is because some candidates who sat for the examination were caught with foreign materials and mobile phones, an act the West African Exams Council has said is the worst form of examination fraud.

The Committee usually chaired by the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, the non-profit-making organization staff noted will approve the necessary sanctions to be taken against candidates found culpable

“Teachers involved in malpractice and misconduct during the administration of the national examination will also be reported to the Ghana Education Service (GES) for administrative sanctions,” the WAEC official told AcademicWeek.

The WASSCE for School Candidates, 2022 (Ghana-only version), was administered to a total of 422,883 prospective candidates representing 203,753 males and 219,130 females from 977 Senior High Schools in the country.

A total of seven hundred and seventy-five (775) centres were used for the examination. Sixty (60) subjects, comprising four (4) core and fifty-six (56) electives were made available to prospective candidates to choose from.
