Gareth Southgate has named his official world cup squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but some English stars have been left out. He omitted Tammy Abraham, who was outstanding for Roma the previous season. Despite being one of the most productive English players in the 2021/22 season, Abraham was left out of the FIFA World Cup squad.
However, Manchester United record signing Jadon Sancho was left out of the squad, possibly due to lack of match fitness. He has been out with an injury for several games this season, so despite being available for selection, he did not make the list. Gareth Southgate also passed over Southampton's free-kick legend Ward Prowse, which could be due to the midfielder's current contract.Ivan Toney, who has been outstanding for Brentford in the 2022/23 season, was the most surprising omission. It's unclear why Southgate chose to overlook Abraham and Toney, despite their impressive statistics from last season. Fikayo Tomori, Marc Guehi, Jarrod Bowen, and Loftus-Cheek are two other England stars who did not make the national team. Can England win the 2022 FIFA World Cup without these players?

Alejandro Garnacho sparks fury at centre of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo row
Following his breakthrough at Manchester United, where Cristiano Ronaldo has taken him under his wing, Alejandro Garnacho hopes to be named to Argentina's World Cup squad and play alongside Lionel Messi.
Alejandro Garnacho has a good relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo.Manchester United fans adore Alejandro Garnacho, but it appears that some of his fans in Argentina are growing tired of his Cristiano Ronaldo adoration.
The teenage sensation has been the standout performer in Erik ten Hag's first season at United, registering two more assists on Thursday after coming on as a substitute in the Red Devils' dramatic 4-2 EFL Cup victory over Aston Villa. With hopes of representing Argentina at the World Cup later this month, Garnacho's international prospects are not as bright as they are in Manchester.Spanish-born but choosing to represent the Albiceleste at international level due to his family heritage, a debate has erupted over whether the 18-year-old winger should board the plane to Qatar - one that has also included his "idol," Cristiano Ronaldo.
That's because Argentina is led by Lionel Messi, who is regarded as an inspiration by many of his younger teammates. However, with Garnacho spending more time with Ronaldo, Messi's eternal rival, Ronaldo has become his mentor. The United duo have formed a bond that not everyone approves of, with Garnahco frequently calling his senior teammate the greatest of all-time on social media alongside a slew of photos. On the Argentine television channel TyC Sports, as relayed by Sport Witness, presenter Ariel Rodriguez sparked a debate when he suggested that Garnacho be called up, especially since Albiceleste star Paulo Dybala does not appear to be fit enough to compete in the tournament.
"I have no doubts," Rodriguez declared. "I'm flying to Manchester United in England. I can see Garnacho [playing]." Guido Glait, a pundit, strongly disagreed, pointing out that the Old Trafford wonderkid has only played 65 minutes in the Premier League.
