How Do You Troubleshoot Bouncing or Rejected Gmail Messages?

Gmail has now automated bounce replies that users receive whenever something goes wrong with an email they have sent out. This what you need to do when you are in such a situation.

Sending email messages through Gmail is normally a very easy thing to do, but in some situations, users may get a message bounced back to their inbox for a number of reasons. More often than not, it’s due the result of typing a wrong  recipient’s email address. When it’s not that, then it was likely rejected due to the content of the email itself, among other things.

Gmail is, by and large, one of the widely used email service providers to date. It’s a versatile platform that offers users a lot of leeway when it comes to inbox customization so that they are as productive as they can be while reading and sending messages. There’s even a setting that allows people to  safely pass on private information to others by setting a time limit and password to sensitive emails.

Sending an email and having it inexplicably rejected and bounced to the sender is a common challenge most Gmail users will face at some point. Based on what caused the message to be bounced back, Gmail will offer an automated reply which is explaining the hiccup. One of the potential Gmail bounce responses, and probably the most common, is ‘The email account that you tried to reach does not exist.’ This automated reply is usually triggered when a recipient’s email address has been deactivated or when the sender types in the email address wrongly, per Google Help. To solve this issue, check for common typos when entering a person’s email address. These include wrong punctuation marks, spaces before or after the address, dots at the end of an address, or quotation marks. Make sure always  that the email address itself is also spelled accurately. If the same error persists, try sending it to an alternate email address the recipient may also be using.
