Sergio Reguilon, a Tottenham Hotspur defender, has been admitted to hospital with a 'acute digestive condition.'
The left back, who is on loan at Atletico Madrid this season, will have his symptoms monitored before being discharged from care in the Spanish capital.
Reguilon had only recently returned to combat.Reguilon had already missed the first three months of the season for Atleti due to groin surgery, and he is now back on the sidelines.
The 25-year-old made his debut against Mallorca in midweek, playing 21 minutes before his latest injury.
"Sergio Reguilón suffers from an acute digestive condition for which he was admitted to a hospital last night," the club said in a statement.
"His hospital discharge will be marked by the progression of his symptoms."
Reguilon came through the Real Madrid youth system and impressed for Los Blancos as well as on loan at Sevilla.However, Madrid had too much depth at fullback for him to play regularly, allowing him to join Spurs in a £27.5 million deal with a buyback clause.
Under Jose Mourinho, Reguilon quickly became a fan favorite in north London, but fell out of favor with Antonio Conte and was allowed to leave for Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish side is in the midst of a disastrous season under Diego Simeone, having exited Europe after finishing bottom of their Champions League group and falling far behind in the title race.

By the time Chelsea plays again, James will be back and the team will look much stronger - though RLC will have a much more difficult time getting minutes at that point.
