The Manchester City captain's contract expires at the end of the current season, and the German midfielder's long-term future is unknown.
Gundogan, Pep Guardiola's first signing at the Etihad Stadium, has appeared in over 270 games for the club since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2016.
The 32-year-old has 11 trophies to his name, including four Premier League titles with City, and was instrumental in the Blues' title triumph last season.Gundogan came off the bench and scored twice against Aston Villa in May, helping Sky Blues retain their Premier League title with a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory.
Mike Keegan claimed that Gundogan was'set to leave' the club in the summer, but the German midfielder stayed and became first-team captain after Fernandinho left.
The German is under contract with the Premier League champions until 2023 and has so far remained tight-lipped about his future.In a recent interview, Gundogan said of his contract situation, "I'm pretty relaxed." Summer 2023 still seems so far away. I'm not too concerned. It's even unclear what will happen to our coach. His contract expires in 2023, and no one knows what he intends to do.
