According to new reports, Tottenham have joined Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool in the race to sign PSV star Cody Gakpo.
The Netherlands international, who will compete in the World Cup with Louis van Gaal's team, has had a fantastic start to the 2021/22 season.
This season, the 23-year-old has nine goals in 14 Eredivisie appearances.
While the goals have dried up in recent weeks - he hasn't scored in eight games - Gakpo has provided six league assists in that time, bringing his season total to 12.

He also played in PSV's 2-0 Europa League win over Arsenal last month. The forward, who primarily plays on the left side, set up Luuk de Jong for Ruud van Nistelrooy's second goal of the game.
On BT Sport, ex-Arsenal and Manchester United forward Robin van Persie described Gakpo as "dangerous," adding that he "always finds a way in most games to have an influence."
With the Netherlands' World Cup starting next Monday against Senegal, Gakpo has the opportunity to make an immediate impact on the global stage.
There will also be a lot of high-profile eyes watching.
Cody Gakpo is wanted by Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham. In recent months, Gakpo has been linked with a move away from the Philips Stadion.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds showed strong interest in the player during the summer transfer window, agreed on personal terms, and had a bid accepted. But the 23-year-old eventually decided to stay at PSV.
Erik ten Hag's Red Devils were also linked to him. Gakpo told The Times that he had discussed a move with Erik ten Hag and was "close to leaving."
The deal, however, fell through, and United instead signed Antony from PSV's Eredivisie rivals, Ajax.
Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked with the player, with the Gunners keen to add another wide forward to their squad. However, transfer reporter Dean Jones claims in his column for GiveMeSport that Tottenham may look to sign Gakpo during the January transfer window.According to reports, Antonio Conte and the Spurs are looking for a 'game-changing' signing and are keeping an eye on Rafael Leao and Memphis Depay. A move for Blackburn midfielder Ben Brereton Diaz, on the other hand, is said to be unlikely.
If Spurs sign Gakpo, he could provide goals that the team hasn't gotten from other forward threats. This season, Richarlison has yet to score in the Premier League. Dejan Kulusevski has one, but he also has five assists in only eight appearances.
Spurs are currently fourth in the league, but could fall further down the table after the World Cup if they do not reverse a three-game losing streak. They will be hoping that a signing like Gakpo will provide them with the necessary funds.
