Cristiano Ronaldo cites Sir Alex Ferguson's loss of influence as having an equal negative impact on Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo feels that Sir Alex Ferguson's departure from Manchester United was hurtful, but David Gill's resignation as CEO in 2013 was also detrimental, in Cristiano Ronaldo's opinion.

Speaking to Piers Morgan during their 90-minute sit-down interview, which was broadcast in its entirety on TalkTV on Wednesday night, was Ronaldo. The game has already experienced shockwaves as a result of the talk's excerpts that have been released over the course of the week.

The 37-year-old has already launched attacks against his present manager, his past bosses, his teammates, and United in general. While his admission that he had no "respect" for Erik ten Hag did not sit well with the fans, many of them agreed with his candid assessment of the decline of the club under Glazer ownership - whatever his reasons for doing so may be.

Ronaldo has lamented the club's lack of development and technological improvement and thinks Gill's departure had a seriously detrimental effect.

Piers, to be quite honest, I assumed that everything would have changed when I joined Manchester United because it had been 13 years "says he. "I spent nine years at Real Madrid and three at Juventus. And when I got there, I assumed everything would be different—the infrastructures, the technology, everything. However, I was unpleasantly astonished to see that everything was the same, to put it mildly. And Manchester, it wasn't at that same moment when Ole was fired as you mentioned; instead, Michael Carrick filled in for two games.

Chelsea is away, as is Villareal. And everything happened so quickly, which shocked me much, especially the instability in the club. They didn't, in my opinion, they stopped on a clock, which astonished me. I was taken aback. When I signed, I believed that if they also signed Sancho, Varane, and me that year, everything would be as it ought to be in Manchester. Not just Sir Alex Ferguson but also David Gill, the club's president, who I believe made the difference, left a significant void in the organization when he left. Additionally, the framework that Sir Alex Ferguson was surrounded by was crucial. I therefore understood that Manchester United was different.

"In my judgment, there was no progress at United. When compared to Real Madrid and even Juventus, I was astonished to see that they use technology, particularly in terms of training, nutrition, and conditioning, eat well, and recover more quickly than before. I was startled to find that, in my perspective, Manchester is currently behind that team when compared. In my perspective, a club of this size ought to be at the top of the tree, but they are not, sadly. They don't belong at that level. But I do hope they can achieve top status in the upcoming years.

"I don't know what's going on, but since Sir Alex Ferguson left, there has been zero progress at the club," the author said.
