FC Barcelona launches an official channel on leading Chinese video sharing platform Bilibili.
Barcelona has further expanded it digital presence in China with the launch of an official account on Bilibili, the leading Chinese video-sharing platform, which attracts approximately 306 million monthly active users, many of whom are Gen Z.
Barça, in cooperation with Bilibili, will focus on telling rich stories that give fans a deeper insight into their favourite players, past and present, and the chance to relieve the emotion of the Club’s most memorable moments. Inspired by the ‘virtual idol’ digital trend in China, FC Barcelona’s virtual character on Chinese social media, Barçacita, will also be brought to life as a virtual host for the first time to present video and livestreaming content.
FC Barcelona is the first sports organisation to unveil a virtual host on Bilibili reflecting the Club’s commitment to finding new, innovative and relevant forms of connecting with Culers in China and strengthening ties with its Gen Z fans throughout the country. FC Barcelona’s debut on Bilibili marks further expansion of the Club’s digital presence in China, which has grown to more than 14,8 million followers across Weibo, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, WeChat and Toutiao. This collaboration is another step towards strengthening the Club’s connection with its 34 million fans in China and reinforces FC Barcelona’s dedication to bringing Culers around the world ever closer to the Spotify Camp Nou.
