Africa's music sensational artist "wizkid" has added two America music awards to his cabinet of awards yesterday night. He was nominated in the Afrobeats artist of the year and his world hit single "essence" was nominated in the the favorite RnB song category. Essence has gone global to wizkid's and everyone's surprise. Essence was part of the classic album wizkid released on the 30th of october 2020. The album have since then gone on to break many records. Not only did it break many records but it also set a whole lots of record as well. It's the first album to spend over 100 weeks on billboard World album chart history. Essence as a song did not first blow up until it started making waves in America. The song was accepted in America because of the message it entails and also the vibe that came along with it.
Wizkid did say he did not know Essence was going to be a global hit himself but he was sure he made magic with Tems.
Justin Bieber jumped on the remix of Essence and also made a personal video to It, which clarifies the fact that Essence is a global hit. Essence and Made in lagos was suppose to win the grammys as well but we all know Wizkid was robbed.
Now the same Essence from made in lagos album got nominated for favorite RnB song in the American music awards and won yesterday night. Wizkid was able to walk bag two awards yesterday night
1. Favorite RnB song
2. Favorite RnB artist
Wizkid is the first Nigerian or maybe African to win the American music awards.
On the other hand Tems also won her first American music award as a featured artist and might soon win her first Grammy as a featured artist too. Tems who has recently surpassed over a hundred billion stream on sporting is a female artist also putting nigeria on the world map.
Congrats to Wizkid and Temz
