Chelsea star urged to use the World Cup to sell himself ahead of January transfer window
Clint Dempsey of the United States has stated that Chelsea star Christian Pulisic should take advantage of the opportunity to showcase his talent at the World Cup ahead of the January transfer window.
This season, the winger has struggled for playing time at Chelsea under both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.
"All eyes on Christian," Dempsey said on Fox's World Cup coverage ahead of the United States' first match against Wales.
"You must demonstrate why you should be on the field. You're not getting as much playing time as you'd like at Chelsea; demonstrate why you deserve to be there. The January transfer window is approaching."Kasey Keller, a former US goalkeeper, told Pulisic earlier this month that he should consider taking a pay cut and leaving Chelsea to advance his career.
"I believe injuries were a part of Christian Pulisic's problem at first." "It's been two steps forward, two steps back," Keller explained.
"He'd make a name for himself, and then he'd get hurt." I never have a problem with a player who wants to play more.
"I understand there may be a lower salary available than in Chelsea, but there's also a part of you that believes you have a limited amount of time."
"What I'd love to see Pulisic do is win a starting spot at Chelsea, honestly that's what I'd love to see more than anything," Keller continued, "but there is a point where he needs to step up."
