Ex-Ghana defender Samuel Osei Kuffour has advised the Black Stars not to focus solely on stopping Cristiano Ronaldo.

The four-time African champions will kick off their Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign against the former European champions on Thursday, November 24 at the 974 Stadium.

Osei Kuffour, who played in Ghana's first World Cup appearance in 2006 in Germany, spoke to the Ghana FA media in Qatar."We must maintain control of the game and play to the best of our abilities."

"We shouldn't think about Ronaldo alone; they have some really good players, like Silva, Fernandes, and Joao Moutinho.

"The emphasis should be on Ronaldo, but it should also be on the team, and how we approach the game is the most important thing for me."

"Because if you say Ronaldo, all the focus will go on Ronaldo, leaving the others out, and that doesn't work for the team.""It has to be a collaborative effort, teamwork, and concentration throughout the ninety minutes." Osei Kuffour told the Ghana Football Association's media.

For the month-long tournament, the Black Stars are in group H with Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.
