After Argentina lost shockingly 2-1 to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday at the 2022 World Cup, Lionel Messi is looking to move on.

After the game, Messi told the media, "There are no justifications." "We're going to come together stronger than before. We have proven the strength of this group. We haven't experienced this circumstance in a very long time. We must now demonstrate that this is an actual group."

After remaining unbeaten in 36 straight games, Argentina came into the day as one of the leading contenders for the championship. The group is ranked third globally by FIFA, while Saudi Arabia is the second-lowest-ranked team competing in the World Cup (51st).

One of the biggest upsets in the history of the sport was built up by it. In the 10th minute, Messi converted a penalty to give Argentina the lead, but for the remainder of the game, Argentina struggled to capitalize on opportunities. Saudi Arabia only attempted three shots, of which two were on target, however they resulted in two goals in the second half.

We did not anticipate the season to begin in this manner, therefore it is a very hard blow, remarked Messi.

With games against Mexico and Poland coming up, La Albiceleste still has a chance to bounce back from the first defeat, although it will be difficult to get out of the group stage. A further defeat would almost certainly result in the team's elimination, while the outcome of the other group games could make a draw risky.

Before Messi joined the team in 2002, Argentina last missed out on the World Cup's knockout round.

This defeat represents a low point in the career of one of the best players in history, Messi, who has led the team to the World Cup final and the Copa America championship.

Will the Argentines make it out of their group?
