Before facing the USA in a World Cup match, Harry Kane will get an ankle exam.
Harry Kane will undergo an ankle scan after suffering an injury during Monday's World Cup victory over Iran.
As is customary the day after a game, neither Kane nor any of the starters from the 6-2 victory participated in open training on Tuesday.
The injury to England's captain occurred in the second half, and he continued playing for another 25 minutes before being replaced after 76 minutes.
The Spurs striker was a major player in Southgate's team's resounding victory over Iran, picking up two assists that helped Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford score.
Kane was taken off the field by England manager Gareth Southgate after the game, but the striker was later seen exiting the stadium with strapping over his ankle.
Following the victory over Iran, the England manager stated in the post-game press conference, "I think Harry's alright."
He continued playing despite what appeared to be a poor tackle. We removed him from the game because we thought it was a suitable time to do so.
Kane missed 14 games in the 2016–17 season due to ankle issues he had in the past. In addition, he missed four games last season due to a different ankle ailment.
Now, England must wait in anticipation to see if Kane will be able to play against USA on Friday in their second World Cup match (kick-off 7pm).
Kane will he practice on Thursday?
Due to his ankle injury, Harry Kane will likely miss England's second group B match. After a fairly strong challenge in the second half, he sustained the injury.
This knocked him to the ground for a while; he appeared to be in terrible pain. Kane is a tough opponent to beat. After attempting to continue playing for almost 20 minutes, he was replaced. Kane was taken off as a precaution, according to Gareth Southgate, and was alright. I watched that game from the stands and was surprised when he said that. After the challenge, Kane appeared to be really uncomfortable, was having trouble moving, and spent a considerable amount of time looking over to the bench to speak with them.
"Now that we are aware he had his ankle scanned, it is concerning even though we don't yet know the outcome. Not only because Kane is the only indispensable member of this team, but also because he has a history of ankle issues. He missed four games in the previous season due to an ankle injury, and he missed 14 games in the 2016–17 campaign due to an ankle injury." That is a difficulty. In Russia, he won the Golden Boot four years ago. How is he doing? It was a recovery session for everyone who played in that game, so we weren't expecting to see him in training yesterday. They were in the fitness center, the pool,
Kane would undoubtedly have received additional medical care and physiotherapy for that ankle.
