How PSG may start Ronaldo after Man Utd axed their assault with Messi in it
In the wake of his explosive interview with Piers Morgan last night, CRISTIANO Ronaldo's departure from Manchester United was officially announced.
The 37-year-old opened out to the SunSport columnist on TalkTV about what was going on at United.
Later, Ronaldo's 500,000-per-week deal with the Red Devils was "mutually" cancelled.
The Portuguese skipper responded by telling United supporters that he "loves" the team and will always support them.
Following discussions with Manchester United, Ronaldo issued the following statement: "We have mutually decided to terminate our contract."
I adore Manchester United and the supporters, and that won't ever change "The moment seems perfect to look for a new challenge. I'm hoping for the best for Man Utd.
There is growing speculation over Ronaldo's future, with Chelsea being one of the teams mentioned in connection with the 37-year-old.
Ronaldo did, however, seem to leave the door open for a move to Ligue 1 powerhouses Paris Saint-Germain in a novel twist.
According to L'Equipe, he said: "Door is wide open. The club could only fill the stadium with the Portuguese from the Paris region.
I can clearly imagine myself in front of 50,000 Portuguese at Parc des Princes. That'd be fantastic."
Ronaldo is currently a free agent, thus PSG might be a financially advantageous alternative for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
He would also team up with his longtime foe Lionel Messi, who has won SEVEN Ballons d'Or, in such a deal.
Amazingly, the two have combined for 1,605 goals.
With Kylian Mbappe to his right and Neymar to his left, Messi might line up as the No. 10 player behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
Lynchpin Danilo Pereira and Marco Verratti would man the midfield.
Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi, two young, agile, and attacking wingbacks, will man the wide spaces.
The winner of the Euro 2020 would be protected by Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe.
PSG continues to strive for their first Champions League victory.
In 2020, when they advanced to the final but fell to Bayern Munich, Paris came the closest.
They would be overwhelming favorites to win the competition thanks to a front four that has scored a combined 2,218 goals.
